I don’t worry and just live each day to the fullest.
Stanislava Rajs was born on March 28th, 1979, and it’s obvious that she’s accomplished a lot in her life thus far. She was a professional athlete, followed the path of medicine, became a model in Paris, and then a Playboy Playmate, appearing on the covers of men‘s lifestyle magazines, including the Italian, German, and Czech editions of Playboy. She is a recognized name in the world of Playboy and soft-core erotica. As a young seventeen-year-old, she was introduced to modeling by complete chance. She‘s also been one of the very few to be able to reach the top of the ranks in fashion and glamour photography at the same time. Today, we bring you an interview with not just a model, but also the co-owner of Pure Beauty Mag. PBM: What‘s the story behind your beginnings? SR: When I was seventeen, I was injured in a basketball match and had problems with my back. So my mother signed me up for a course where models learn how to walk straight. If I knew about that I would have never gone to the first lesson. I never thought I could become a model, nor did I have any ambition to. Unlike all the other girls, I never wanted to be a model. PBM: And what did you want to become? SR: I wanted to be a dolphin trainer but I guess I was supposed to be a doctor. My mother wanted it, I grew up alone with her and she was the head nurse at a hospital. So I attended a medical school. Then I went to the preparatory year for medicine at a university to prepare myself for a career as a doctor. Instead, it turned into a modeling career. PBM: So how did you start off in the field of photo modeling? Did you immediately get an offer to be on the cover of Playboy? SR: No, no, everything started with modeling and fashion shows. I started off as a normal model at a modeling agency, and then I quickly had my first appearences at fashion shows and photo shoots. I modeled in a lot of lingerie and swimsuits. Then I started to get my first offers for nude shots and so I took a break, sat down with some coffee, and thought long and hard about it. There’s a certain point where a model needs to really think things out. But I am a former basketball player and a nurse, so I have a positive relationship with my body and nudity, so I said that I would do it. PBM: Is it hard for a model to decide to leave the sparkly world of fashion shows and enter the world of Playboy? There usually isn’t a way back. SR: What way back? The world of modeling is a lot more malicious and fake than the world of Playboy. Here, people reveal themselves within minutes after meeting each other, whereas in modeling that‘s all hidden by clothing. So I felt fine. I started to travel a lot. I spent weeks, even months in Rome, and I also traveled to Spain and Paris. I even ended up in a world-renowned agency where they offered me an exclusive contract. But that wasn’t something for me. Go to casting every day and do whatever the agency tells you to do -- it was a binding contract. PBM: That’s what every model dreams of, right? SR: Not me! (smiles) PBM: What did you dream about? SR: Many of the dreams I had have already been fulfilled, but I won’t tell them to anyone. I can reveal that none of my life-long or even short-term dreams have anything to do with photo shoots or modeling. It’s a job which I enjoy, but I’m more interested in the real world, love, making love, relationships, everything that’s natural in life. PBM: Let’s move forward a little bit. How did you end up as the co-owner of the electronic magazine Pure Beauty? SR: Everything sprouted from my long-term work with the photographer Adolf Zika. He inducted me into the world of artistic photography. I take care of his archive, exhibits, and public relations to this very day. I’m also a currator for his art exhibits. When I started on the project PBM, I watched the process of its birth every day. It inspired me, and I believe in it. It took only a little while, and I joined the project with all I can give, even financially, which makes me a business-woman in the company Worldwide Image Publishng, which owns the domain name of Pure Beauty Mag. PBM: How does your typical day go? If it’s not a secret, I’m sure our readers would be interested. SR: Of course that’s not a secret (laughter). I get up around seven in the morning and start off slow, spending a long time in the shower. After breakfast, I walk down two flights of stairs and I’m in the editor’s office of our electronic magazine. I communicate with models, I lay out cover pages and I plan photo shoots. When I have time, I go for lunch, and sometimes I have enough time to run into a store and buy styling supplies, but that’s a form of relaxation for me. In the afternoon I prepare sets and answer any questions the members of our team have. After that. I either go to the gym or enjoy some culture. That only counts for days in which I’m not traveling around Europe for fashion shows. PBM: What do you mean? SR: I still have fashion shows left over from my modeling career. I don’t play a big role in this field, but I’m still invited to model fairly often. I go to fashion weeks in Austria and Germany. I usually model clothing for world-famous designers, my last shows were for DKNY and Armani. PBM: Do you have any time for hobbies at all? SR: Oh, sure... This will be my third year as a physiotherapist and massage therapist for the racing team Menx Ferrari GT and I handled the entire world championship. It’s a relaxing yet adrenaline-pumping at the same time. I fly with Adolf and the rest of the teams around the world, to all the well-known tracks, and we’re one big family. When I have the time, I like to take a ride alone in a car or motorcycle, I tend to drive pretty fast. PBM: So, it seems your life is full of diverse experiences. What would you recommend to girls who would like to be like you, busy, beautiful, and successful? SR: I don’t think I’m especially beautiful, or successful, not even busy, I only do what I enjoy in life and I make sure to have a good time while doing it. I don’t worry and just live each day to the fullest.
PBM: Thank you Stani for doing this interview with us and I wish you the best of luck in all your pursuits. Iggy Gorman for Pure Beauty Mag |
